Role: Community Teacher

Location: Bolton College, Deane Road Campus & surrounding areas

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Both in term and out of term times)

Pay: £19.15 to £24.69 per hour inclusive of holiday pay

Term: Temporary to July 31st

Start: ASAP

Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Community Engagement Teacher to join the team at Bolton College and make a real difference in the local community. As our Community Engagement Teacher, you’ll visit the local community in a variety of settings to deliver introductory level taster sessions across a variety of subjects and offer employability guidance. You’ll have the freedom to deliver a variety of sessions that suit your own background and capabilities.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Develop trust and make connections in the local community.
• Provide drop in assistance with CV writing, digital literacy and job applications/searches.
• Offer support with accessing broader services such as Universal Credit, the NHS App and public health initiatives.
• Deliver creative taster sessions to give an idea of the courses we have on offer at the college.
• Provide progression advice and guidance including enrolment support.

The ideal candidate:

• Current Enhanced DBS held on the update service
• Engaging people person with an empathic nature
• Comfortable with travel to various settings around Bolton
• Teaching experience
• Experience in beauty or catering would be a bonus
