Painting & Decorating Assessor

Role: Painting & Decorating Assessor

Location: Bolton College, Deane Road Campus

Hours: 25 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Term: Temporary to June 27th

Pay: £25.71 to £30 per hour inclusive of holiday pay, depending on qualifications & experience

Start: Week commencing 22nd April

About the Role:

Bolton Talent Solutions and Bolton College have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Painting & Decorating Assessor to join the construction team. As our Painting and Decorating Assessor, you’ll contribute to the development of future professionals by delivering high-quality assessments and guidance to students. You will work onsite at our Bolton campus, supporting learners through their qualifications and ensuring they meet industry standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and support learners in Painting & Decorating qualifications, ensuring they meet awarding body requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to aid their professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality assurance and health & safety policies.
  • Work collaboratively with tutors and other staff to enhance the learning experience.

 

 

Requirements:

  • A relevant Painting & Decorating qualification (Level 3 or above preferred).
  • Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Industry experience in Painting & Decorating.

Position Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity to join BTS and Bolton College’s dedicated team as a Health & Social Care Lecturer. We offer a wide provision of courses across Health & Social Care at the college including T Level, apprenticeships and diplomas and you’ll be responsible for delivery across the provision. You’ll play a key role in inspiring learners to step into careers that truly make a difference.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Health & Social Care lectures across T Level, apprenticeship and diploma provisions.
  • Support learners aged predominantly between 16 to 19 to understand and engage with course material.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students and adapt teaching styles where necessary to ensure all learners receive a high level of education.
  • Assess student progression and achievement using appropriate methods.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum level 3 teaching qualification
  • Minimum level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a clinical setting

  • Supporting learners with course transitions to and from Foundation
  • Actively drive attendance levels
  • Manage learner behaviour and emotional needs
  • Support the Curriculum Leader to ensure compliance through reporting systems
  • Assist in the running of Friday Vocational taster sessions and monitor engagement

 

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience providing Pastoral support
  • Able to engage learners and show empathy
  • Strong reporting and organisational skills

Bolton Talent Solutions are looking for enthusiastic Progress Tutors to support the team through to Easter. As a Progress Tutor, you’ll play a huge part in student success through the support and guidance you’ll be providing learners. You’ll be responsible for monitoring student progress across their chosen fields of study and liaising with subject delivery staff to develop personalised strategies that encourage learner achievement.    

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tutorials to groups of learners covering a range of subjects including PSHE, employability and values.  
  • Meet with learners on an individual basis to provide support and guidance across their fields of study.  
  • Monitor student progression and liaise with subject tutors, parents and learners as appropriate.   

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 Teaching Award
  • Experience of progress monitoring would be a benefit
  • Experience of delivering employability, values or PSHE
