We have a fantastic construction department at Bolton College offering a range of courses to suit learners. Bolton Talent Solutions has a great opportunity to join the team as a Plumbing Work Based Tutor. You will be responsible for assessing and guiding learners at their employer sites.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learners to build confidence during their work placements. 
  • Assess learners plumbing skills in the workplace.
  • Provide feedback and development opportunities.

Department: Student Experience Team

Purpose of Job:

We are seeking an organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our Student Experience Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in monitoring and reporting on student attendance, ensuring registers are accurately maintained. You’ll work closely with curriculum areas and the Student Experience Manager to support and improve attendance levels across the College.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the College’s Attendance and Punctuality Policy.
  • Generate and interpret weekly attendance reports using spreadsheets, databases, and other data sources.
  • Monitor register completion within assigned curriculum areas.
  • Liaise with staff to resolve attendance-related issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and work proactively with curriculum staff to ensure accurate attendance recording.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Mentors to implement strategies aimed at improving attendance.
  • Contact parents, carers, and students regarding lateness or absences and ensure all absences are properly recorded.
  • Assist with queries from academic and support staff, either in-person, via phone, or electronically.
  • Actively contribute to the College’s safeguarding, equality, and diversity initiatives.

 

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong organisational and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in the working environment.
