Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled IT professional to join our experienced and friendly IT Services team. As a Senior IT Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and supporting core College infrastructure and systems.

The role involves a blend of 2nd/3rd line support and project delivery, maintaining high availability across Microsoft systems, networks, and virtual environments. If you have experience working with Microsoft 365, virtualisation platforms, and enterprise network infrastructure, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Please note: This is a fully onsite role, based at our Deane Road campus in Bolton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Microsoft infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune/SCCM, Microsoft 365)
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange (hybrid), Teams, and SharePoint
• Manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Support virtual environments (VMware or Hyper-V) and ensure disaster recovery readiness
• Maintain endpoint security, system documentation, and provide guidance to 1st/2nd line staff

Who we’re looking for:

• Proven 2nd/3rd line IT support experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and endpoint management
• Experience with networking (switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi)
• Knowledge of virtualisation platforms and collaboration tools
• A proactive team player with a solutions-focused approach
